After a long week and weekend of fevers, medicine, and Scarlet Fever, my beautiful boy is finally done with it all. The rash produced by the Scarlet Fever is GONE!! It was really hard to look at his little face covered in the rash and not feel bad for him. I suffered more than he did but that's always the case.
He went back to school yesterday and had a good day and this morning when i left him i asked the teacher about his progress and she had great things to say:
He's very smart and picks up on things quickly.
He knows how to share.
Gets along well with the other kids.
He's very sweet and kind.
He's learning a lot.
Our next step is to spend time learning colors, numbers, and ABC so that he's better prepared for when he's moved to his next class room.
It was nice to hear so many good things being said about our boy. We see it at home too. He repeats everything he sees and hears. This morning he said Kiki, which is the name of the girl on The Fresh Beat Band. He heard her name and repeated it. He's dying to talk. I'm ready.
I'm not really surprised at the first item since it's become very clear that he's a smartie. I'd like to take huge credit for that but i can't. That's all Ernest. I know kids are natural sponges, but when you have a dad with the kind of intelligence Ernest has you have a 50/50 chance of inheriting it. Glad to say that he has. I mean it's the least that could happen since physically he looks more like me, has my temper, personality, and stubbornness; i'm just glad he's as intelligent as his dad. Maybe he'll have his own "Rain Man" moments the way Ernest does when anything has to do with Electronics or when it come to fixing anything and everything. I'm smart but they're a different kind of smart. The kind that must create things just to be able to solve them, or take them apart, or anything to keep them busy. I'm content just knowing that things work. They have to know how. Thank goodness.
